With a larger screen, the release of iOS 6 and a rumored new 19 pin connector the anticipation for the new Apple’s new iPhone is at unprecedented levels. Sure, we’ve been excited about new iPhones before, but the iPhone 5 just brought things to a new level. And for good reason â€" there are are major upgrades expected.

We have been covering the iPhone 5 release since WWDC. Initially the the release of iOS 6, and a few crafty outlets have been able to confirm some new features for the next iPhone, leaving little to doubt. But Apple is known for some last minute surprises and the exact iPhone 5 release date is still slightly up in the air â€" although we have pin pointed it tremendously. We can confirm that the iPhone 5 will be released in the fall â€" likely October â€" we just don’t know the exact date yet. The new iPhone will be the first product to fully utilize iOS 6′s capabilities.

Here is everything that we know about the upcoming iPhone 5 which will most likely be dubbed “the new iPhone.”

iPhone 5 Release Date

We have two reports that the iPhone 5 release is this fall. The first one has the new iPhone release date in October and a new report is pegging the iPhone5 release date for September 21st, 2012. Seeing that iOS 6 will be available in the fall you should expect to see that aligned with the release of the iPhone 5. We have also heard a rumor of a new mini iPad being released this fall along side the iPhone 5 release date. Business Insider had a report out last week that the iPhone 5 is already in production. Whether it’s the end of September or early October the iPhone 5 is coming before Halloween.

According to Business Insider the demand for the iPhone 5 is at an unprecedented level. From their report.

The market research firm surveyed more than 4,000 consumers in mid-June and found that 14% said they were very likely to buy the next iPhone and 17% said they were somewhat likely to buy it. In other words, nearly a third of consumers say they will likely buy the fifth generation iPhone.

iPhone 5 Potential Specs

The biggest new is a new iPhone connector and larger iPhone screen. And this is huge news because now Apple’s chargers will no longer be consistent across devices and a larger iPhone screen has been on everyone’s wish list since day one.

The newest rumors are that of a centered front facing camera and the possibility of Near Field Communication controllers directly connected to the Power Management Unit of the new iPhone. This NFC rumors comes from a report on 9to5mac. NFC has been a buzzword surrounding the mobile industry for a while. Let’s see if Apple can introduce it successfully to the world.

The next enormous spec change is having 4G LTE compatibility for the iPhone5. Most Android phones are already using the 4G network, so this move makes complete sense. Next, a quad core processor and upgraded chipset, here’s a new report on the possibility of a quad core processor. Next, is the potential of a 3D camera for the iPhone â€" take this one with a very large grain of salt though. Last but not least is the introduction of a “LiquidMetal” casing which would allow for a stronger and unique casing. Check out the report below.
