Apple has launched its iPhone 5 and already a keen debate is taking place about how different it is from its predecessors â" The iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S. It has been the endeavor of Apple to pack new features in any of its new releases to motivate users of earlier models to go for an upgrade. If you look closely at the iPhone 5 one can see that the hardware looks much like its predecessors in few aspects.
The iPhone 5 like its predecessor , the iPhone 4S has 3 different versions â" 16GB, 32 GB and 64 GB costing $199, $299 and $399 respectively. The price also includes a bond that the users will use one of the iPhone carriers AT&T, Sprint or Verizon for a period of two years.
The iPhone 5 is scheduled to go for sale in nine countries- The UK, Germany, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and the US from 21st September. Pre-Orders has been solicited from 14th September. This is also the time for users to get their hands on iPhone 4S since Apple has slashed the prices by $100. The iPhone 4 can be had free if the users sign a two years contract with any of the three carriers.

iPhone 5 supports 4G LTE Networks
The new iPhone 5 is compatible with 4G LTE Network. So now users can stream videos and download at a quicker speed. Connectivity will be available with three carriers, namely AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint in the United States.
iPhone 5 is  Slimmer, Taller And Sleeker than its earlier counterparts
The iPhone 5 is having a 4-inch display and weighs 3.95 ounces while its earlier counterpart, the iPhone 4S has a 3.5 inch display and weighs 140 Gms. The iPhone 5 is 18% slimmer and also weighs 20% lighter. The iPhone 5 retina displays boasts of a resolution of 1136-by-640 pixels which measures as 326 pixels per inch. The iPhone 5 back is made of Aluminum which is akin to the Apple Notebooks and is covered on the outside and inside by glass which is either black or white tinted according to the color of the iPhone 5.
Improved Camera Features
The new advanced camera of the iPhone 5 is able to take 40% faster pictures and is equipped with an in built panorama mode. Another new feature in the iPhone 5 is that the user can shoot video and take pictures simultaneously. The iPhone 5 has HD front facing camera which supports FaceTime in HD video at 720p whereas the iPhone 4S has VGA front camera. There is no change in the Megapixels and both cameras take pictures at 8 megapixel.
Better Battery Life
The processor A6 draws less power as compared to the iPhone 4S which has a A5 chipset. This has enabled the iPhone 5 battery to give longer service and can last for 225 hours on standby and 8 hours talking time. The iPhone 4S has 7 hours and 41 minutes of talk time, or 6 hours and 56 minutes of web browsing.
Better and more Powerful Processor
As mentioned the iPhone 4S comes with a A5 chipset while the iPhone 5 is equipped with new A6 processor which is faster and also draws less power. It also has twice the computing power as compared to its earlier counterpart.
iPhone 5 has new and better Accessories
The iPhone 5 has a changed 8 pin lighting connector as compared to the cumbersome and bulky 30 pin connector which is featured in the earlier Apple products. The iPhone 5 is now also equipped with better and more comfortable ear pods.
